The murder of Marcel Vervloesem will be turned into an euthanasia

mail-1

Marcel Vervloesem asked euthanasia last on November 14, because the prison administration would not allow the medical treatments necessary to sooth him of his final diseases. He will stop his medicine on February, 1st, encouraged to a suicide, which is presented to him as euthanasia. He is imprisoned since September 5, 2008, for crimes which he was physically unable to make, within the framework of a file where he exposes the corruption that covers the sexual exploitation of children.

The euthanasia in Belgium is legal only when it is endorsed by the Commission of the Euthanasia, composed of eight doctors, four lawyers or law professors and four people dealing with the problems of incurable people. The request must be formulated in a voluntary, reflected way, repeated and without external pressure.

The sole repeated external pressures, by the refusal of health care that causes Marcel Vervloesem acute sufferings, are the justification of the request.

A doctor of the Commission of the Euthanasia had answered that he just had to stop his drugs to over-pass to the endorsement. Yet, his mission comprises the obligation to announce the treatments or the palliative care likely to relieve him. He did not receive any opinion. He had, in the meantime, to be chopped-off flesh and bones with gangrene, resulting from the lack of adequate treatment. He was transferred outside the medical centre after he decided on this false euthanasia, where he is deprived of treatment for the gangrene that has come back. An amputation causes acute sufferings, especially with a foot shackled. He cannot face these treatments anymore.

The Foundation Princesses of Croÿ and Massimo Lancellotti, Werkgroep Morkhoven and all the NGO that support them, highly protest against these guilty omissions that encourage Marcel Vervloesem to suicide. Belgian justice has already retained that pushing somebody to suicide is liable to a prosecution for involuntary manslaughter. The protests repeated since July 2008 against this imprisonment that has to result to the death of this man, do not make it possible to believe in an involuntary agreement of the doctors.

Dr. Van Mol, head doctor of all the Belgian prisons, seems to prepare for a new suicide at the prison of Bruges, in spite a wave of suicides in December. The inquiry carried out by the Foundation Princesses of Croÿ and Massimo Lancellotti brought alarming observations.
Yesterday, Marcel Vervloesem telephoned the Werkgroep Morkhoven, saying he had been threatened by a director of this prison, who ordered him to make pressure so that the questions on Dr. Van Mol are withdrawn of Internet, or else, he would undergo the consequences. This doctor has all leisure to ask for a right of reply. Nothing thus justifies these threats on a prisoner, who has no right of decision on this investigation.

The Foundation Princesses of Croÿ already agreed to remove an article of Internet, under the condition of saving the life of Marcel Vervloesem. The agreement is broken, since the false euthanasia is programmed to kill him on around February, 10. He was advised of an intention to prohibit the visits of the members of his NGO, under the pretext of security breach, thus among which of a "dangerous princess".

Jos Vander Velpen, lawyer at the bar of Antwerp and president of the Human rights League in Flanders, will visit Marcel Vervloesem this week.

The League was unaware of what was happening in the Bruges prison, until the testimony of Marcel Vervloesem. The families of prisoners and the visitors of prison speak all with incredulity about the same kinds of exactions.

The press started again its defamatory campaign, inciting to the hatred of Marcel Vervloesem, by truncating the information of its essential components. He was condemned for rapes, they say, but they hide he was sentenced for the rape a young man, now major of age, who withdrew his complaint by saying that his friends and him had all lied under threat.

Other pressures are operated on Internet, to prevent the Minister of Justice grants a human end of life to Marcel Vervloesem, with an electronic bracelet, while waiting for the judgment of European tribunal of Human Rights. Nothing justifies to deprive him of it. He is physically unable to commit a crime and he remains innocent, as long as Europe will refute legality to condemn a man on the basis of an incomplete file.

Indeed, article 11 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights assures that everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence. Raf Jespers, the lawyer of Marcel Vervloesem, disputes that he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence, amongst other things owing to the fact that evidence for his defence where stolen from the dossier.
